What is the best remedy to get healthy hair again by Shweta Das

There are many factors which can cause unhealthy hair. Even if you had healthy hair at some point in your life, if you are here again asking this question then this is because your habits have changed which have lead to again dull looking hair.
Today our author Shweta Das will be highlighting how you can also have healthy hair again by changing some of the habits which are the reason for your dull hair.
Unhealthy hair is caused due to inadequate nutrition, exposure to heat, colouring and drying of hair.
I love natural treatment and soo I'm going to write down everything which I did to get long, shiny and thick hair within a year:)
You can easily spot me out here. Though I'd trimmed my hair a week back before clicking this pic but still it's long enough and looks strong too.
Now lemme list down the “Do's and Don'ts' quickly:
  1. Do not shampoo your hair more than twice a week. A big nooooooo….and if your scalp is oilly and sticky, Apply aloe vera gel on ur hair and scalp and wash it the next day:)
  2. DO NOT COLOUR YOUR HAIR. Use mehendi powder to colour your hair naturally. I've been using mehandi for like 4 years, and now I feel like queen while flaunting my natural permanent brown hair.
  3. If your hair is already damaged, cut your hair and promote regrowth, go bald if you can,and apply oil during the growth process.
  4. For oil use patanjali kesh kanti, yes I've got such long hair cuz of patanjali kesh kanti. Cuz the oil has got strong smell to it,you can use patanjali coconut oil for regular use. (I'm using Patanjali currently ,You can use any brand of your choice :) )
  5. Rebonding, smoothening etc etc are all business and unnatural, PLEASE don't go for them, they will last long for a year and later you will regret :)
  6. Use Brahmi Powder thrice a week. I've been using Brahmi and it has done wondeeersssss :)
  7. Increase your protein intake. Eat one egg every day, drink spinach juice and dal water. These are common food items which every household has got :)
  8. Oil your hair once and keep it for 3 days if you have dry hair. In short, oil your hair.
  9. Plait your hair while you sleep. Don't let your hair be open for a long time unnecessarily. Sleep on silk pillow covers cuz these offer less friction and therefore less hairfall!
  • Lasssttt, Stress mat lo yaara, chill maaro, soooo mast wala and keep smiling :) Stress mat lena kabhi, even if ur bf/gf scolds you :)
Follow these steps and voila! You'll get back your healthy amazing hair back :)

How to have healthy beautiful hair

Everyone just loves a killer mane, don't they. Healthy hair are a demand for today's generation. There are son many products which can take care of your hair needs but when it comes to natural healthy hair, there are many tips you can use to make your hair stand out and shine more.

Below are few of those tips, try to apply a few of them if you can.
  • Try NOT to wash your hair everyday. It can rid your hair of the essential natural oils leading to a dry and itchy scalp, and then dandruff.
  • Try and use the same shampoo and conditioner and apply the conditioner on the ends to prevent split ends.
  •  Avoid hot water and always use lukewarm or cold water
  • Rinse the conditioner off with cold water as it is good for both strength and shine.
  • Try not to use hair dryer and let your hair air dry to avoid brittleness.
  • It's better to dilute the shampoo in water before using.
  • To minimize breakage, make sure that your hair is thoroughly wet before applying shampoo.
  • If you're towel drying your hair, always pat it, never rub it.
  • Be careful when you brush wet hair - normally this should be avoided, because it leads to breakage, but if absolutely need to, then use a broad toothed comb and slowly proceed from top to bottom.
  • Oil is great for stimulating your scalp and for healthy hair growth. Apply it an hour or so before you wash your hair.
  • I personally prefer a curd mask to deal with dandruff. Just take some homemade curd and gently massage it into your scalp and wait for an hour before you wash your hair. Curd is rich in proteins so it not only battles dry scalp, but also improves hair quality, making it smoother and shinier.
  • Lemon juice can also do the trick. Just massage two tablespoons of lemon juice into your scalp and rinse with water. Repeat this at least twice a week until the flakes almost disappear.
  • Crush garlic with honey (to avoid the smell) before washing your hair as usual.
  • Aspirin contains salicylic acid which is the same active ingredient that medicated shampoos also contain. Crush two aspirins into a fine powder and mix them with your normal shampoo and then wash your hair as usual.
  • Choose a sulphate - free, glycerin packed shampoo because glycerin hydrates your hair, making it more manageable.
  • Don't skip conditioner, because it's all about the moisture.
  • Hair serum is your best friend, but be careful that you don't apply too much of it.
  • The main cause of overly dry hair is overshampooing, which strips your hair of natural oils which can lead to many other problems.Use an acidic shampoo, with pH between 5 and 6.
  • Use natural products such as Nora Ross. The Garlic Shampoo by Nora Ross is good too.
  • An oil massage can work wonders. Try using coconut oil and work it into your scalp.
  • A trim works best. Regularly trimming your hair can help minimize split ends.
  • Apply argan oil at the ends after you wash your hair.
  • Only condition the ends and never the roots. Condition from midshaft to the ends.
  • Again, wash your hair less often. Washing your hair twice or thrice a week is more than enough.
These were some of the best tips to have natural hair, you can also use some natural products if you can find such as garlic or turmeric based products.

Reviews

Viola

I have 4c kinky hair and it was pretty matted when I first used this product. It literally melted the knots and cut my wash routine time in HALF. I also have dry scalp that flakes alot and it's been a week and still no flakes. It has been such a relief, earlier I was so angry at whatever shampoo I used flakes would be there. This also smells so good. loving it

Andrew

I was Skeptic at first. It had a list of good things it did. I figured I can always return it. Well after 2 weeks of trying it out I can say it works as described. My wife's hair would shed every time she showered and brushed. Now it's almost none. Conditioner didn't smell bad, But can be improved on. But for what it does who cares. it has been very good for my wife, for her hair fall has reduced, so its a good deal for me.

Maria

It smells sooo good. Really good brand. Nora Ross garlic conditioner not only does the job but is worth the price for the bottle. It leaves my hair smooth and looking healthy in every wash. A must buy for everyone looking for a good garlic shampoo to try it out. Also, coupons are there too for saving some additional on Nora Ross shampoo coupon.

Fabul
Its been about a month that I have been using it. The condition smells good. And leaves hair nice and clean. But after a few hours, my hair seems to get oily...which mean I have to wash my hair every other day where as before this shampoo I could go a good 3 days with no wash. So... its ok. Havent really noticed a growth yet, too soon to tell but as far as the product is concerned, it feels good and nice. Will use for few more days and then update my review.

Kandice
This conditioner is definitely helping with shedding it was a nice clean scent as well!! I have natural curly hair and this helps with frizz!! , Ihe shampoo is a breeze too, with all the goodness of garlic, I couldn't find many good garlic based shampoos, so thought to give it a try.

Rolf
I have used this product for quite a few years after its recommendation by a hairdresser, and I believe that it has been better for my hair than any conditioner which I had used previously. Still, I will give it more time to see how it performs, so far , it's good.

Thelma
I love using this product, I bought it because I am losing my hair on the sides. Although I do not see much hair on the areas I am concerned about (I have only been using the product for a month, it is not miracle work) I can feel a difference in my hair. I do see little pieces of hair growing, slowly but steady, I love the way it makes my hair feel. I have thick hair and when I shampoo and condition, my hair usually feels heavy with other products. With this product it feels light, I love it. I was recently able to straighten my hair and I can see a difference it does not puff in the cold weather, my hair felt great and it looked great, my sister thought I went to the salon my hair was shiny. Nope it is the Nora Ross shampoo and conditioner that makes my hair look great. I love it, I recommend the product. I also bought the pills, I cannot say if they have helped much because I forget to take them regularly, until I remember continuously to take them, then I will rate the pills. But the shampoo and conditioner seem to be doing the work fine by themselves. I have moved over from some other product recently, so as far as the results are concerned, I'm very happy, looking to try other nora ross products too.

How To Make a Proper Pot of Hot Tea

"No pleasure is simpler, no luxury cheaper, no consciousness-altering substance more benign."
    - Norwood Pratt

One of the first things that I learned in seventh grade home economics class, nearly 40 years ago, was how to brew a proper pot of hot tea. This was an art that every young lady needed to master, and wedding shower gifts of the time (and for a decade after) often included bone china cups and saucers for those important ladies-only occasions at which tea would be "poured."

Alas, except among tea aficionados, it would seem that making tea properly is seldom considered today. Here's what you need to know.

Water Quality
Water quality will affect the tea's taste. If your tap water has additives such as chlorine or fluoride, consider using spring water. Warm tap water can carry minerals from the water pipes - always use freshly-drawn cold water.

The Teapot
Choose a china teapot with a spout that comes up to the same level as the top of the pot so the pot can be filled without tea running out the spout. Be sure that the handle of the pot is well-balanced and comfortable and that your knuckles don't touch the pot. A round pot is preferable as this allows the tea leaves to gently swirl with the water. Avoid metal teapots as they distort the taste of the tea.

Bags or Leaves?
Decide which form of tea you will use. Tea connoisseurs shudder at the mention of tea bags, as most bag teas are of a lower quality than the loose leaves. However, there are some quality bagged teas available. You might have a soft spot for a particular brand (Nova Scotians are very fond of their local "King Cole" brand) or may not want to mess with tea leaves. Leaves can be brewed in an infuser although aficionados prefer the loose tea alone in the pot. If you choose to use an infuser, try to stay away from the ceramic style which do not allow water to circulate and generally produce weak, flavourless tea. Choose an infuser that will allow the correct amount of tealeaves without packing tightly.

Type of Tea
Decide which type of tea you will use. All true tea comes from the leaves of a tree called Camellia sinensis. The leaves of this tree are picked and then "withered" or wilted. Steaming the leaves at this point will prevent oxidization-a process in which the leaf's enzymes come in contact with the oxygen in the air-and produce green tea. Oolong tea is prepared from partially oxidized leaves, while leaves that have been fully oxidized (for as long as four hours) produce black tea. Most purchased teas are a blend of these, sometimes with additives. For example, Earl Grey is a tea blend scented with the oil of the citrus bergamia fruit.

Making the Tea
Now that you've assembled your equipment, you're ready to make a proper pot of tea.
  1. Empty any standing water from the tea kettle and fill with fresh water. Put kettle on to boil.
  2. Once the water is very hot, but not boiling, pour some into each of two teapots and swish it around to warm the pots.
  3. Just before the kettle reaches a boil, pour the hot water out of one teapot and add the tea. Use a teaspoon of tea per cup.
  4. Take the teapot to the kettle. As soon as the kettle boils, pour boiling water into the teapot and replace the lid. Don't let the water over-boil, as it will lose oxygen and result in a flat-tasting tea.
  5. Let the tea steep from 2 to 5 minutes, depending on the type of tea and strength that you prefer. Large leaves require more steeping time than small ones.
  6. Empty the water from the second teapot and strain the tea into this pot for serving. This will prevent the bitter taste that results from sitting on the leaves for a long period of time.
  7. Offer milk (never cream), sugar and lemon with the tea.
  8. Cover the teapot with a tea cozy to keep the tea warm (never microwave to reheat!)
Prefer Decaf?
Although tea contains less caffeine per cup than coffee, if you are sensitive to caffeine you can decaffeinate tea by using this trick. Since 80% of tea's caffeine is released within the first 30 seconds of steeping, allow tea to steep half a minute and then pour off the water. Immediately add fresh, boiling water to the wet tea leaves and steep 2 to 5 minutes as usual.

Enjoy!

Winter Care of Garden Fountains & Accessories

One of the most common questions we hear is what to do with a garden fountain or accessory in areas where freezes are common. Proper winter care is required for all cast stone, fiberglass, ceramic, and terracotta products to protect them from the freeze/thaw cycles that occur during the winter.

Any garden fountain or statuary that can hold water, snow, or ice, such as a planter or birdbath can be damaged by the winter freeze/thaw cycle. Below are some suggestions for minimizing the possibility of damage to your garden fountains and accessories.

1. Original Placement
Try to always place your statuary, benches or birdbaths on a firm, solid foundation and not directly on open soil, grass, or uneven surfaces. While this seems basic, consider that accumulated water or ice can make a fountain or birdbath imbalanced, and cause it to topple.

2. Concrete and Cast Stone Birdbaths, Benches and Statuary
If at all possible, a birdbath top should not remain outside in winter because if it fills with water, snow, or ice and freezes. The natural expansion effect will cause the top to crack. All birdbaths should be stored indoors in winter, whether in a garage or garden shed.

Concrete or cast stone bench legs, decorative statuary, and garden fountains should be raised off the ground in winter to avoid the possible damage that can result if the product freezes to the ground surface.

3. Concrete and Cast Stone Planters
For planters to be left in place, with plants in them, over the winter, here are a few suggestions. First, raise them off the ground. This can best be accomplished by placing two pressure-treated wood planks under the edges of the planter. Take care not to block the drainage hole. Contact with the wet ground during a freeze/thaw cycle could cause your planters to crack, chip, or crumble.

Second, if possible, bring the planter indoors during the winter. Even if it is in a cold, unheated garage, at least it will be dry. Third, if you must leave an unplanted container outdoors during the winter, turn it upside down, on the aforementioned treated lumber stripes, and cover with burlap or other absorbent material, and then cover with thick, dark plastic, like a lawn and leaf trash bag.

4. Polyethylene Planters and Statuary
Poly garden planters (those made of plastics) and decorative statuary are lightweight, mostly durable, resistant to extreme temperature fluctuations, and UV resistant. Some color variation is common due to the molding production process but they should otherwise do fine through the winter. Keep them clean and dry, and if a poly planter or fountain is left outside, cover it to keep water from accumulating.
